In 1979, Branigan was signed by Ahmet Ertegun to Atlantic Records. During the years after Meadow broke up, she had various jobs, including a stint as one of Leonard Cohen's backup singers for his European tour, April to July 1976. The record was never re-released, and Branigan preferred not to discuss her involvement with Meadow publicly. She was a member of the band, Meadow, which recorded one album in 1973 called The Friend Ship.
